Remove the frame trim on the window frame of the rear door
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
Precondition
The side window glass must be completely open.
- Detach rubber window seal (1) at top of frame trim (2).
- Detach frame trim (2) from clamps (3) at top using special tool 2 298 505
.
- Undo screws (1) of frame trim (2).
- Insert the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324)
at the rear (on the C-pillar) into the window cavity and slide it toward the front.
The labeling TOPPING is facing up.
- Attach the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324)
to the lower edge of the frame trim (1) as shown:
- (2) Short shank, bottom
- (3) Long shank, top (TOP)
- Position the special tool 0 490 535 (00 9 318) on the door trim panel (1).
- Use a suitable tool (2) through the opening of the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) to lever out the frame trim (3) toward the top no more than 5 mm.
- Gradually guide special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) and 0 490 535 (00 9 318) backwards until frame trim (3) has been completely disassembled.
