Removing coolant pipes
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE COMPLETE FRONT AXLE WITH THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION .
- Refer to PARTIALLY LOOSENING THE LEFT-HAND CHARGE AIR COOLER .
- Refer to REMOVING THE RIGHT THROTTLE BODY .
- Refer to PARTIALLY LOOSENING THE RIGHT-HAND CHARGE AIR COOLER .
- Refer to REMOVING THE ENGINE VENTILATION LINE FROM THE INTAKE SYSTEM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE TANK VENT LINE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE INTAKE PLENUM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE INTERMEDIATE FLANGE OF THE INTAKE PLENUM .
- Remove positive battery cable (1) at the rear on the cylinder heads from the clamps (2).
- Unlock the locks (1).
- Remove the vacuum line (2).
- Loosen the vacuum line (1) from the clamps.
- Feed out vacuum line (1) and remove.
- Remove positive battery cable from clamps (1).
- Remove positive battery cable from clamps (1).
- Feed out and remove the positive battery cable towards front.
- Disconnect the plug connection (1) on cylinder head 1-6.
- Release the hose clips (2) and (3) by using the special tool 0 495 794 (17 2 050).
- Disconnect coolant hoses.
- Unscrew the bolts (1) on the coolant lines.
- Unlock and loosen the coolant hose on the coolant expansion tank for the low-temperature coolant circuit.
- Thread out and remove both coolant pipes (1) in the direction of arrow.
