Removing the gas pressure spring for hood
CAUTION:
Shutting hood or trunk lid.

- Support hood/trunk lid in fully open position with the aid of a suitable device.
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AT THE REAR LEFT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER OF THE REAR RIGHT ENGINE COMPARTMENT .
CAUTION:

- Support hood/trunk lid in fully open position with the aid of a suitable device.
- Observe disassembly sequence:
- Push the clamp in the direction of the groove with the screwdriver.
- Lift off the ball socket from the ball hub.
- Push back the clamp.
- Detach the ball socket from the ball hub.
- Remove the gas pressure spring for hood (1).
