Replacing steering shaft collar (330i xDrive Wagon, 328d xDrive Wagon, 330i GT xDrive, 340i GT xDrive)

NOTE:
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove TRIM PANEL for pedal mechanism.
- US vehicles only: Remove AIRBAG MODULE for driver knee protection
- Unclip air duct in footwell.
- Remove bottom STEERING SHAFT in engine compartment.
Pull locking pin (1) off of steering shaft collar.
Press in latch mechanisms (2) from engine compartment and press steering shaft collar in passenger compartment.
NOTE:
- Remove STEERING COLUMN with steering shaft collar.
NOTE:
Installation note:
Mount STEERING COLUMN with steering shaft =M collar from passenger compartment.
Mount STEERING COLUMN with steering shaft =M collar from passenger compartment.
Screw steering column on body.
Insert steering shaft collar into the recesses in the firewall and press in until the latch mechanisms engage audibly and palpably.
Check latch mechanisms from engine compartment for tight fit and mount locking pin.
