Removing and installing/replacing airbag control unit (330i xDrive Wagon, 328d xDrive Wagon, 330i GT xDrive, 340i GT xDrive)

Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.
IMPORTANT:
Read and comply with NOTES
on protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD protection).
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
- Remove TRIM PANEL for pedal mechanism.
Release screw (1).
Tightening torque 65 77 1AZ .
Unlock plug connections (2) and disconnect.
Pull airbag control unit (3) out of holder in direction of arrow.
Replacement:
Carry out VEHICLE PROGRAMING/ENCODING .
