Removing and installing (replacing) headlining (with panorama glass roof) (330i GT xDrive, 340i GT xDrive)

Special tools required: 

• 00 9 325

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove left/right front roof pillar (a-pillar) TRIM PANEL 
• Remove left/right SUN VISOR AND COUNTER SUPPORT
• Remove left/right VANITY MIRROR LIGHT
• Remove left/right MICROPHONE
• Open slide/tilt sunroof at front
• Remove ROOF SWITCH CLUSTER .
• Remove all GRAB HANDLES .
• Remove rear INTERIOR ROOF LIGHTS .
• Remove left/right door post at top (b-pillar) TRIM PANEL 
• Remove left/right roof pillar at rear (c-pillar)TRIM PANEL 
• Remove left/right d-pillar TRIM PANEL 
• Release edge protection on all doors in the headlining area

For complete removal of headlining only 

• Remove WINDSCREEN .

Release screws (1).

Attention  !

Headlining tends to kink between the B and C-pillars.

The following tasks must be carried out with a second person assisting: 

Support the headlining at front/rear.

Run in special tool 00 9 325 behind headlining as shown and mount reinforcement (1).

Gently tap special tool 00 9 325 downwards and release clip (2).

Installation note: 

Replace faulty clip (2)

Adjust backrest of driver's and front passenger seat all the way back.

Support headlining (1).

Release headlining (1) from clips (2).

Release headlining (1) from clips (3) in downward direction in the marked area.

Set headlining (1) aside or remove through windscreen opening.

Installation note: 

Replace faulty clips (1 and 2).

Installation note: 

Installation sequence: 

1. Attach headlining to the clips at front and rear
2. Install grab handles at front first, then at rear
3. Screw down sun visors and counter supports
4. Secure edge protection to headlining
5. Fix tailgate gasket on headlining
6. Add final details to vehicle
