Preparing tool when replacing the door trim panel
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE SOUND INSULATION ON THE FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE DOOR WIRING HARNESS ON THE FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE POWER WINDOW SWITCH ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE ENTRY LIGHT IN THE FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE CONTROL UNIT FOR THE ADDITIONAL SEAT FUNCTION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE CENTRAL LOCKING SWITCH .
- Refer to REMOVING THE LED MODULE ON THE FRONT DECORATIVE STRIP .
- Refer to REMOVING THE LED MODULE ON THE REAR DECORATIVE STRIP .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT FOLDING COMPARTMENT LED MODULE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE SWITCH FOR TAILGATE RELEASE .
- Get the set of special tools 2 444 403
ready.
- Disassemble special tool 2 444 403
.
- Drill out medium hole (1) with the large drill of the special tool 2 444 403 .
- Drill out small bore holes (2) using the small drill of the special tool 2 444 403
.
The bore holes (1) and (2) must be drilled precisely .
- Thread in lower part (1) of the special tool 2 444 403 from rear into the door trim panel.
- Put together special tool 2 444 403 as shown.
- Align the special tool 2 444 403 and turn the nut (2) clockwise to press together.
- Release the nut (2) after cutting through the door trim panel.
- Remove the special tool 2 444 403 .
- Press out the punching residue from the special tool 2 444 403 using the pressing-off tool.
