Replacing wheel carrier
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical

Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING REAR BRAKE GUARD PLATE .
- Loosen screw (1).
- Remove the holder (2).
- Use the special tool 2 472 903
or 5 A47 6E6
for unscrewing and tightening the spherical-collar screws.
- Unscrew the spherical-collar screws (arrows).
- Remove wheel bearing (1).
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Keep the connection of the wheel bearing on the wheel carrier clean and free of oil and grease.

- Replace wheel carrier (2).
Parts: Wheel carrier
- Recut the thread for the spherical-collar screws on the wheel bearing.
- Clean the contact surfaces (1) of the wheel carrier (2) and the wheel bearing (3).
- Position wheel bearing (1) on the wheel carrier.
- Replace the spherical-collar screws (arrows).
Parts: Spherical-collar screw
- Tighten the spherical-collar screws (arrows) crosswise.
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION

| M12 Replace spherical collar screws. Tighten the spherical-collar screws in crosswise sequence . The tightening sequence must be followed strictly and carried out on all spherical-collar screws at the same time! |
1. Tightening torque | 20 Nm |
| 2. Initial torque | 140 Nm | |
| 3. Unscrew all bolts . | max. 45° | |
| 4. Tightening torque | 120 Nm | |
| 5. Angle of rotation | 90° | |
- Position holder (2).
- Tighten down screw (1).
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
