Positioning the new rear differential on the special tool

CAUTION: Heavy component  .
Heavy components can lead to injury or damage  .

• Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.

• Position the new rear differential (1)  on the special tool 0 496 009 (33 5 200)  .

  If necessary, ask for support by a second person.

• Secure the rear differential (1)  with the tie rod (2)  with the special tool 0 496 009 (33 5 200)  .
• Remove the protective caps of the radial shaft seal.

• Position the assembly protection ring (1)  in the radial shaft seals (2)  of the drive flanges.
