Remove the acoustic cover of the oil sump
WARNING:

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

- Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.
NOTE:

Damage to battery terminal, the safety battery terminal or the intelligent battery sensor (IBS).
Damaged battery terminals can lead to malfunctions or vehicle electrical system faults.

- Detach battery terminal from battery pole by carefully shifting to and fro. Do not pry off using a tool.
Preliminary work
- Refer to DEACTIVATING THE 48 V ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE CENTER UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING THRUST FIELD .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Precondition
Disconnect all negative battery cables.
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Unlock and loosen the clamps (2).
- Loosen nut (3).
- Feed out positive battery cable (4) and set it aside.
- Guide the positive battery cable (1) out of the clamp (2) and lay to one side.
- Undo Christmas tree clip (1).
- Loosen the expanding rivet (1).
- Loosen the expanding rivet (1).
- Press the acoustic cover (1) downwards.
- Feed out the acoustic cover (1) in arrow direction and remove.
