Removing The Trunk Lid

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVE TAILGATE TRIM PANEL .
• Refer to REMOVING THE GAS PRESSURE SPRING FOR TAILGATE .

• Unlock and disconnect all plug connections of the vehicle wiring harnesses (1) on the tailgate.
• Release the nozzles (2) at the tailgate.
• Release the wiring harnesses (1) at all the attachment points (arrows) from the tailgate and feed it out from the tailgate.

  • Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
  • Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.

• Release nuts (1) and set the ground cable (2) aside.
• Release the screws (3) on the left and right at the tailgate hinges. Remove the tailgate.
