Prepare New Part

• Remove adhesive residue on the joining surfaces on the vehicle.
• Remove sheet metal cutout (1) in such a way that it can be reused.
• Make separating cut (2) on the new part according to the separating cut on the vehicle.
• Release welded connections in areas (3).

• Release the welded connections in area (1) and remove sheet metal cutout (2).

• Bend sheet metal tab (1) approx. 180°to the other side.

• Release the corresponding welded connections and remove the reinforcement of A-pillar (1) from the new part combination.

• Adjust the new part using an alignment bracket or a universal fixture and secure it.
• Prepare areas (1) and (2) for joining by welding.

• In the area (2), observe the procedure for replacing spot-welded adhesive joints for standard production.

• Prepare areas (1) and (2) for joining by welding.

  In area (1), prepare an approx. 15 mm-long MAG weld seam with the help of the hole (arrow).

• In the area (2), observe the procedure for replacing spot-welded adhesive joints for standard production.

  To do this, prepare additional MAG plug weldings of the inside in area (2).

• Prepare a reinforcement plate for separating cut (2).
• Prepare separating cut (2), the reinforcement plate and areas (3) for joining by welding.

• Prepare areas (1) to (3) for joining by welding.

  Observe the replacement procedure for standard production spot-welded adhesive joints in areas (2).

• In area (3), note the bonded connections between the underlying panels!
• As far as possible, prepare area (3) in such a way that the repair spot-welds can be set on the production spot-welds.

• Prepare area (4) for steel on steel structural bonding.

Replacing the coarse thread bolt and threaded weld bolts (steel surface) 

• Renew the coarse thread bolt (1) and the threaded weld bolt (2).

  Parts:  Coarse thread bolt, threaded weld bolt

  Take the number and position from the component to be replaced or the add-ons.

• Weld the coarse thread bolt (1) and threaded weld bolt (2) onto the new part.
