NOTE: The joint plate (1) is used and installed as a separate component.

Release the welded connections in the areas (2) and remove the joint plate (1).

Adjust the reinforcement plate (2) and prepare to join by welding in the areas (1).

Observe the spot-welded adhesive joints of the overlying panel in the area (2) with the floor panel.

Adjust the joint plate and prepare in areas (1) for a structural adhesive bonding with blind rivets.

Transferring hole pattern.
Transfer the hole pattern of the self-tapping screws in the engine mount onto the new part in areas (1). Drill holes with Ø 6.8 mm.

Replacing the coarse thread bolt and threaded weld bolts (steel surface)

NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.

Renew the coarse thread bolt (1) and the threaded weld bolt (2).
Parts: Coarse thread bolt, threaded weld bolt

Take the number and position from the component to be replaced or the add-ons.
Weld the coarse thread bolt (1) and threaded weld bolt (2) onto the new part.

Check ground pins and replace if necessary

Check the ground pins (1) for stability and renew if necessary.

Remove coarse contamination from the bonding surfaces using solvent cleaner R2.

Cleaning agent R2 500 ml 83190417324
Clean the bonding surfaces using solvent cleaner R1.
CONSUMABLE SPECIFICATION

Cleaning agent R1 100 ml, Bottle 83192211217
Grind the bonding surface down to the bare metal.
Clean the bonding surface with cleaning agent R1.

Remove coarse contamination from the bonding surfaces using solvent cleaner R2.

Clean the bonding surfaces using solvent cleaner R1.
CONSUMABLE SPECIFICATION

Cleaning agent R1 100 ml, Bottle 83192211217
Clear bonding surfaces from oxide layers and/or paint using an stainless-steel wire brush or sandpaper with 120 grain.
The surface must be metallically bright.
Clean the bonding surfaces using solvent cleaner R1.
CONSUMABLE SPECIFICATION

Cleaning agent R1 100 ml, Bottle 83192211217
Allow cleaned surfaces to dry for approximately 5 min.
Bonding surfaces must be completely dry.
