Removing the control unit for optional equipment system (SAS)
Precondition
- Vehicles with airbag module for driver and knee protection.

- All work on pyrotechnic parts may be carried out by technically experienced and appropriately trained personnel only.
- Replace any damaged part or ones that have been dropped.

- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE TRIM PANEL FOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
- Refer to REMOVING KNEE AIRBAG .
- Disconnect the plug connection (2).
- Release the nuts (3) and remove the control unit for the optional equipment system (SAS) (1).
