Extreme force being required during installation is an indication that the component is damaged or deformed. Check component and replace if necessary.

- Check the gearing of the output shaft for damage and replace damaged parts if necessary.
- Check the bellows for damage and replace damaged parts as needed.
- If reusing the output shaft:
Replace the circlip (1).
Parts: Circlip
- Coat the contact surfaces (2) using approved final drive transmission oil.NOTE: The figure shows the procedure for the front axle differential. The procedure for the bearing bracket is identical.
- Fold open the assembly protection ring (1).
- Insert the output shaft (1) in the arrow direction in the front axle differential or the bearing bracket.
Do not yet engage the output shaft (1) in the front axle transmission or in the bearing bracket!
- Pull on the tab of the installation protection ring (1) until one of the two predetermined breaking points breaks.
- Pull out and dispose of the installation protection ring (1).
- Slide the output shaft (2) into the front axle differential up to the stop or the bearing bracket.
The output shaft (2) must snap in noticeably and audibly.
- Feed in the output shaft (1) at the swivel bearing.
- Position the anti-roll bar link (2) on the spring strut.
- Replace nut (1).

- Tighten the nut (1), if necessary, counter support the Torx socket.TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
Front anti-roll bar link to anti-roll bar/spring strut M10 Replace nut. Tightening torque 56 Nm - Secure the cable of the wheel speed sensor to the holders (1).
