- Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
- Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
To ensure the quality of the Driver Assistance functions in vehicles with concealed radar sensors, the component may only be repainted in compliance with the repair specifications described in the service information "Repair specifications for vehicles with radar sensors".
No stickers or films (transparent or colored) may be affixed in the transmission areas of the radar sensors.
If there are no radar sensors fitted, the component may be painted.
The following features can be used to identify whether radar sensors are installed on the vehicle:
Radar sensors are installed at the rear if the triangular warning lamp is present on the exterior mirror (in the mirror glass or on the mirror frame).
Radar sensors are installed at the front and rear if the triangular warning light is present on the exterior mirror (in the mirror glass or on the mirror frame) in conjunction with optional equipment S5ATA or S5AUA.

Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING FRONT ORNAMENTAL GRILLE .
- Refer to PARTIALLY REMOVING THE LEFT FRONT AND RIGHT WHEEL ARCH TRIM .
- Refer to PARTIALLY REMOVING THE FRONT SECTION OF THE FRONT WHEEL ARCH COVER ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT .
- Loosen screws (1).
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Release the front bumper cover (2) in a downwards direction from the detents.
- Unlock plug connection (1) in the left wheel arch and disconnect it.
- Unlock the plug connection (1) in the right wheel arch and disconnect.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Release the front bumper cover from the detents in the area of the dotted line.
- Guide out the front bumper cover forwards and remove it.
