Remove bearing bracket for pedal mechanism

- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

Preliminary work
- Refer to DEACTIVATING THE 48 V ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE OF THE SYSTEM BATTERY .
- Refer to REMOVING THE TRIM PANEL FOR PEDAL MECHANISM .
- Refer to REMOVING KNEE AIRBAG .
- Retract release tool 2 409 646 between brake pedal and brake booster.
- Apply support (1) of the release tool 2 409 646 on the bearing bracket. If necessary, position the support by rotating the screw on the release tool.
- Push release tool 2 409 646 in the direction of the arrow and lever out the brake pedal from brake booster.NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
- Disconnect plug connection (1).NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Loosen nuts (1).
- Release screw (1) and remove bearing bracket (2).
