Removing the gas pressure spring for hood

CAUTION: Shutting hood or trunk lid .
Injury hazard!

Support hood/trunk lid in fully open position with the aid of a suitable device.

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Preliminary work

Slide each clamp (1) with a screwdriver in the arrow direction.
Detach the ball sockets from the ball hubs and remove gas pressure spring for hood (2).
