Securing the steering shaft at the bottom on the steering gear

• Clean the screw thread in the universal joint (2)  from the residues of screw locking agent.
• Swivel the universal joint (2)  in the arrow direction to the steering gear.
• Replace the screw (1)  .

• Tighten down screw (1)  .

  Lower steering shaft to steering gear
  M10 Clean screw thread and remove remains of screw locking agent. Replace screw.	Tightening torque	28 Nm

  NOTE: The following step (s) must be performed if the listed component (s) is/are installed.
• Position the cover (2)  on the steering column.
• Tighten nuts (1)  .

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Steering column cover panel to firewall
Plastic nut	Tightening torque	3 Nm
