Removing the engine from the automatic transmission
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the engine .
If the engine is manually rotated in the wrong direction of rotation, the engine can be damaged .

- Only rotate the engine manually in the correct direction of rotation: a) clockwise when looking at the damper, or b) counterclockwise when looking at the chain drive. b) applies only if the timing chain is installed in the rear.
- Crank engine with special tool 0 493 380 (11 6 480) at vibration damper in direction of rotation.
- Loosen nuts (1) of the torque converter.
- Crank engine further and release remaining 5 nuts.
- Remove screws (arrows).
- Push tabletop (B)
in the direction of the arrow and push automatic transmission (1)
to the side.
- Insert and position the special tool 2 459 012 on the cylinder head.
- Tighten the screws (1)
of the special tool 2 459 012
.TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Special tool to cylinder head M8 Tightening torque 21.5 Nm - Attach the workshop crane with the special tool 0 490 579 (11 0 070) and raise the engine (1) from the lifting table.
