Measuring brake disk thickness (rear brake)
- Check brake disk thickness:
Place the special tool 0 495 451 (34 1 280) at three measuring points in area (1) and measure.
Compare measurement result. Compare the lowest value with the "MIN TH" target value (stamped on the brake disk).
New brake pads may be installed only if the brake disk thickness is greater than the "MIN TH" target value. If the measured value is below the "MIN TH" target value, the brake disk must also be replaced when the brake pad is exchanged.
Brake disks must be replaced (irrespective of the remaining brake pad thickness) when the nominal dimension thickness (new dimension) minus 2.4 mm is reached!
Does not apply to perforated brake disks and M vehicles.
