Install the left-hand and right-hand crash lever
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the right and left side.
- Replace clip nut (1).

- When positioning the crash lever (1) watch out for the Christmas tree clip.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Tighten the threaded connection in the normal position (vehicle has a full tank, vehicle is completely assembled). - Position the tension strut (4) on the front subframe.
- Position the crash lever (3) on the front axle support.
- Replace the screw (1).
Parts: Screw
- Feed in the screw (1) with the spring circlip (2) and screw in by a few turns.
Adjusting the normal position

- All specifications must be observed and complied with.
- Position special tool 2 358 630 .
- Hand-tighten the wheel bolts (1).
- Insert the universal jack into the special tool 2 358 630
.
- For installed output shaft:
It is imperative to protect the output shaft (1) from damage with a cloth (2).
The spring strut (3) must be pressed in arrow direction slightly to the side before lifting the swivel bearing (A).
When lifting the swivel bearing, ensure that there is sufficient distance between the output shaft and the spring strut.
- Use the universal jack and the special tool 2 358 630
to lift the swivel bearing until it reaches the dimension (A).
Dimension (A) = 383 mm
Dimension (A) must not be undershot.
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Tighten the threaded connection in the normal position (vehicle has a full tank, vehicle is completely assembled).

- Tighten the screw (1) in normal position.NOTE: Drive the steering (swivel bearing) a little inwards.

Remove the special tool
- Lower the universal jack and set it aside.
- Loosen lug bolts (1).
- Remove the special tool 2 358 630 .
Installing the front section of the front wheel arch cover
- Replacement:
Position the brake ventilation duct (2).
Tighten down screw (1).

- Tighten screws (arrows).
