Remove rear side trim panel
Precondition
- Convertible top is open.
Convertible top flap is in open position.
Wind deflector is removed.
Rear seat backrest is folded.
NOTE:

Damage of high-quality surfaces.
Plastic wedges can damage high-quality surfaces.

- Protect surfaces from damage.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE INNER DOOR SILL COVER STRIP .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR SEAT BENCH .
- Refer to REMOVING THE REAR OUTER WINDOW RECESS FINISHER STRIP .
- Refer to REMOVING THE SEAT BELT FINISHER STRIP .
- Get the set of special tools 0 493 752 (00 9 329)
ready.
- Loosen nut (1).
- Loosen screw (2).
NOTE:
Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
- Remove the protective cap (1).
- Loosen screw (2).
- Unclip the rear side trim panel (1) on the clips (2) using a suitable tool.
- Unclip the rear side trim panel (1) upwards from the clamps (3).
- Feed the rear side trim panel (1) out of the door weather strip.
- Feed the safety belt (1) out of the rear side trim panel.
- Unlock all of the plug connections of the wiring harness (2) on the rear side trim panel (1) and disconnect them.
Partially release the Bowden cable for the convertible top cover
- Unclip the Bowden cable (1) from the detent (2).
- Push back the trim (1).
- Unclip the Bowden cable (2) in arrow direction from the detents on the trim (1) and remove towards rear.
