Removing the right spindle drive

CAUTION: Shutting hood or trunk lid.
Injury hazard!

Support hood/trunk lid in fully open position with the aid of a suitable device.

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the spindle drive.
If the trunk lid is not opened completely, the spindle drive may be damaged.

Remove and install the spindle drive only when the Trunk lid is open to the maximum extent.

Preliminary work

Refer to REMOVING THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR COVERING .
Refer to REMOVING THE LOADING EDGE TRIM .
Refer to PARTIALLY REMOVING THE RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH TRIM PANEL .

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Observe disassembly sequence:
1. Push the clamp in the direction of the groove with the screwdriver.
2. Lift off the ball socket from the ball hub.
3. Push back the clamp.
4. Detach the ball socket from the ball hub.
Remove spindle drive (2).
