- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE WINDOW CHANNEL STRIP FROM THE REAR DOOR .
- Secure the side window glass to the door frame when it is closed using adhesive tape.
- Spread apart the holder on the outside of the side window glass with the special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325) until the side window glass can be detached .
- Shift power windows down by approximately 10 cm.
- Release the detents of the door wiring harness (1) out of the rear module bracket (2) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connections of the door wiring harness (1)
on rear module bracket (2)

- Release the rubber grommet of the Bowden cable for the inner door opener (1) .
- Loosen screws (2)

- Open locks (1) and remove the rear module bracket (2) .
