Removing the holder for the DME control unit on the left

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

In a warranty case, you must always provide a fault memory printout with the defective part, even if the fault memory does not contain an entry.

If control units are disconnected, fault memory entries and functional limitations may occur.
The fault memory entries must be read out and, if necessary, deleted.

Preliminary work
- Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
- Refer to REMOVING LEFT INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
- Refer to REMOVING COVER FOR THE DME CONTROL UNIT ON LEFT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE DME CONTROL UNIT FOR CYLINDERS 7 TO 12 .
- Loosen screw (1).
- Remove the refrigerant line from the clip (2).
- Unlock the lock (3).
- Guide the holder (1) for the DME control unit on the left out to the top and remove.
