Detach the alternator and set it aside

Precondition 

Battery ground leads are disconnected.

• Loosen nut (1)  .
• Disconnect the engine oil lines (2)  below the alternator and set them aside.

  Do not  open the engine oil lines or drain the motor oil.

• Unlock and disconnect the connector (1)  from the alternator.
• Detach the cover (1)  and release the nut below it.
• Disconnect positive battery cable from alternator.

• Detach positive battery cable (1)  from holder.

• Unscrew the bolts (1)  at the top on the alternator.

• Cover the radiator (for example with panel or board) and protect from damage.
• Unscrew the bolts (1)  at the bottom on the alternator.
• Pull the alternator (2)  slightly forwards and set it aside.
• Protect the alternator (2)  from falling.
