Remove exhaust system

- Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.
CAUTION:
Component with heavy weight.

- Note component's center of gravity.
- Support component using a jack.
- Secure component against falling off the jack.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Mount the exhaust system in a de-energized state, following the tightening sequence from the rear silencer towards the exhaust manifold.

Preliminary work

- Refer to REMOVING THE TRIM FROM THE REAR BUMPER PANEL .
- Refer to REMOVING BOTH EXHAUST TAILPIPE TRIMS .
- Refer to REMOVING THE CONNECTING SUPPORT FROM THE TUNNEL .

Loosen the clamp (1) on the left.
- Vehicles without gasoline particulate filter
Loosen the clamp (1) on the right.
- Vehicles with gasoline particulate filter
Loosen nuts (1) .
- Vehicles with gasoline particulate filter
Loosen nuts (1) .
- Vehicles with gasoline particulate filter
Release the exhaust temperature sensor (1) upstream from the right GPF and set aside.
- Vehicles with gasoline particulate filter
Release the exhaust temperature sensor (1) upstream from the left GPF and set aside.
- Vehicles with gasoline particulate filter
Release the exhaust temperature sensor (1) downstream from the left GPF and set aside.
- Vehicles with gasoline particulate filter
Release the exhaust temperature sensor (1) downstream from the right GPF and set aside.
- Unscrew the bolt (1)
on the rear axle on the left.
- Unscrew the bolt (1)
on the rear axle on the right.
- Unlock and disconnect the connector (1)
from the controller drive for the exhaust flap on the left.
- Unlock and disconnect the connector (1)
from the controller drive for the exhaust flap on the right.
- Unscrew the nuts (1)
on the left of the rear silencer.
- Unscrew the nuts (1)
on the right of the rear silencer.
- Unscrew the nut (1)
on the left of the rear silencer.
- Unscrew the nut (1) on the right of the rear silencer.
- Guide out and remove the exhaust system with the help of three persons.
