51 71 412 Removing and installing/replacing rear spoiler

Special tools required: 

• 51 0 010 

Preliminary work needed: 

• Refer to REMOVING UPPER REAR WINDOW FRAME COVER .

Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect.

Unlock hose pipe (2) and disconnect.

Unscrew nuts (3).

Tightening torque 51 71 1AZ .

Pull rear spoiler (1) slightly towards rear and lift.

Release grommets (2) from trunk lid.

Installation note: 

Make sure grommets (2) are correctly seated.

Installation note: 

Sealing surface (1) on adjusting elements (2) must not be damaged.

Replacement 

Swap over THIRD BRAKE LIGHT (3) .

Adjusting the rear spoiler: 

Observe BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .

Measure recessed of rear spoiler to roof using special tool 51 0 010  .

Loosen nuts (1) if necessary and adjust rear spoiler using adjustment screw (2).

Tightening torque 51 71 1AZ .
