Remove front bumper cover

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
To ensure the quality of the Driver Assistance functions in vehicles with concealed radar sensors, the component may only be repainted in compliance with the following instructions:
No stickers or films (transparent or colored) may be affixed in the transmission areas of the radar sensors.
If there are no radar sensors fitted, the component may be painted.
The following features can be used to identify whether radar sensors are installed on the vehicle:
Radar sensors are installed at the rear if the triangular warning lamp is present on the exterior mirror (in the mirror glass or on the mirror frame).
Radar sensors are installed at the front and rear if the triangular warning light is present on the exterior mirror (in the mirror glass or on the mirror frame) in conjunction with optional equipment S5ATA or S5AUA.

Preliminary work

Refer to REMOVING SEAL FOR FRONT HOOD .
Refer to REMOVING THE DECORATIVE FRONT GRILL .

NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.

Loosen the expanding rivet (1) .
Raise the mounting (2) for the hood seal a little and support it.

Unscrew the screws (arrows) on the front bumper cover.

Release the front bumper panel (1) from the clamps (2) .

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Conduct the following operation with the assistance of a second person.
Guide out and remove the support for the front bumper panel (1) at the underbody protection and on the support for the front bumper panel.
Unlock and disconnect the existing plug connections and remove the bumper cover in the front (1) .
