Removing and installing/replacing the radiator for charge air (S63, B44 T 2) (X6 M)
Only perform this repair work after engine has cooled down.
Recycling:
Coolant emerges when coolant lines are detached. Catch and dispose of escaping coolant in a suitable container.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove INTAKE PORT .
- Remove front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Removal:
Unlock and detach coolant lines (1).
Release screws (1).
Slightly lower the radiator including transmission oil cooler.
Release lock (1).
Push out the transmission oil cooler (1) from the bracket in the direction of the arrow and place to one side.
Do not loosen transmission oil lines.
Remove the radiator including bracket (2).
Loosen the screws (1) and remove the radiator from the bracket.
Installation:
Install the radiator in the bracket and tighten the screws (1).
Push the transmission oil cooler (1) into the bracket (2) in the direction of the arrow and install it.
Lock the lock (1).
Install the radiator including transmission oil cooler and secure using screws.
Tighten down screws (1).
Connect and lock coolant lines (1).
The coolant lines (1) must audibly engage.
Required follow-up work:
- Install the INTAKE PORT .
- Install front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Top up COOLANT .
