Hotel position switch

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2017 BMW X3, 2016 BMW X3, 2015 BMW X3, 2014 BMW X3, and 2013 BMW X3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The tailgate can be separately double-locked with the hotel position switch. That means: The hotel position switch decouples the tailgate from the central locking system.

When the hotel setting is selected, the tailgate also stays locked after the vehicle is unlocked. That means: It is not possible to open the tailgate via the rear lid button in the passenger compartment, the rear lid button, outside, or the rear lid button at the infrared remote key or at the ID transmitter.

The Car Access System (CAS) is the master control unit. In other words, the Car Access System issues the release for opening. In the switch position secured, the hotel position switch connects to ground. The Car Access System (CAS) records the change in status.

The graphic below shows the example of the hotel position switch in the F01.
