Failure of the fuel-quantity control valve can be accompanied by the following symptoms:
- Fault entry in the engine control unit
- If activation of the fuel-quantity control valve is interrupted or the circuit is shorted to earth, the valve switches to full delivery. The DDE ECU recognizes the fault and responds by limiting the fuel-injection rate whilst simultaneously switching to pressure control.
- In the event of a short circuit to positive, the engine shuts down.
