Characteristic curve and setpoint values

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2017 BMW X3, 2016 BMW X3, 2015 BMW X3, 2014 BMW X3, and 2013 BMW X3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

There is no speed control for the coolant pump (despite the design of the pulse width modulation). The turbocharger coolant pump has an operating point of 2750 rpm. Furthermore, the coolant pump is not suitable for operation with a permanent pulse. In addition, the coolant pump can be switched to low power via the actuating wire.

Observe the following setpoint values for the coolant pump:

Variable Value
Speed (operating point) 2750 rpm
Supply rate (nominal operation) 418 l/h
Voltage range (full power output) 9 to 16 V
Maximum current consumption in normal operating mode 1.2 A to 1.4 A
Temperature range of coolant temperature -40 to 128 deg C
Temperature range -40 to 140 deg C
