63 25 003 Removing and installing/replacing additional brake light

Special tools required: 

• 00 9 340

Necessary preliminary work: 

• REMOVE AERIAL AMPLIFIER

Removal: 

Unlock and disconnect hose connection (1).

Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.

Push lock (3) to open metal clamps (4) in direction of washer jet (1).

If necessary, use suitable tool to press metal clamps (4) towards the top to relieve strain on them.

Removal: 

Press additional brake light (1) out of tailgate (2) in direction of arrow.

If necessary, use special tool 00 9 340 to release or cut through double-sided adhesive gasket.

Installation note: 

Remove gasket remnants from tailgate (2) and thoroughly clean bonding surface.

Installation: 

Unfasten catch (1) before fitting brake light.

Make sure that metal clips (2) are in contact with catch (1) before fitting brake light.

If necessary maneuver metal clips (2) into correct position.

Installation: 

Remove protective film (1) from gasket on brake light (2).

Gasket on new part is not to have any creasing!

Installation: 

Insert new brake light and press on it firmly to ensure connection of gasket to tailgate.

Slide lock (3) in direction of plug connection (2) to lock metal clamps (4) correctly pretensioned.

Connect and lock hose connection (1) to washer jet, check tightness of hose connection!

Connect plug connection (2) to brake light.
