61 31 704 Replacing center console operating facility (from 07/2012)

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove CENTER CONSOLE OPERATING UNIT

Graphic shows repair kit for center console operating facility.

Function buttons (4) or dummy caps (5) must be clipped into the correct position.

Incorrect assignment may result in damage to the operating element (1) or functional impairment.

Assign symbol element (2) and function buttons (4) or dummy caps (5) to operating facility (1) according to the used part version.

Fit operating element (1) with symbol element (2) and chrome frame (3).

Fit operating element (1) with function button (4) or dummy cap (5).

An incorrectly clipped function button (4) or dummy cap (5) can be levered out of the operating element (1) using a suitable tool.

Check locators on function button (4), these must not be damaged.
