Measuring a cylinder
Prerequisite
Cylinder path is cleaned.
Check
- Perform measurement on all cylinders.
- Adjusting measuring screw to nominal dimension of cylinder bore.TECHNICAL DATA SPECIFICATION
Cylinder bore B36/B38/B42/B46/B48/B58 Diameter of cylinder bore 82.000 mm... 82.014 mm Permitted irregularity of the cylinder bore 0.01 mm Permitted conicity of the cylinder bore 0.01 mm Permissible total wear tolerance between piston and cylinder bore (engine operated) 0.15 mm - Insert the internal measuring device into the micrometer and set it to zero.
- Measure the cylinder with the internal measuring device at the following points and check the deviations from the nominal dimension.
- Lower third of the cylinder bore in the driving direction
- Lower third of the cylinder bore transversely to the driving direction
- Middle third of the cylinder bore in the driving direction
- Middle third of the cylinder bore transversely to the driving direction
- Upper third of the cylinder bore in the driving direction
- Upper third of the cylinder bore transversely to the driving direction
