Move the engine to the installation position
Preliminary work
- Bring front compartment lid in the SERVICE POSITION .
- Remove the rear left engine compartment COVER .
- Remove the rear right engine compartment COVER .
- Remove the top right and left engine compartment COVER .
- Remove left and right hood gasket STAND .
- Remove the ACOUSTIC COVER .
- Remove the center UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Remove rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .

Components connected to the engine joint or cross member.

- Check lifting eyes and engine mounting brackets for damage, e.g. cracks.
- Attach the component to correctly mounted engine joints or cross members only.
- Only lift the component, do not shift it forwards, backwards or in transverse direction.
- Insert and position the special tool 2 459 012 at the cylinder head.
- Tighten the screws (1) of the special tool 2 459 012
.TIGHTEN TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Special tool to cylinder head M8 Tightening torque 21.5 Nm NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION Conduct the following operation with the assistance of a second person. - Carefully position engine bridge (1) with help from an assistant.
- Make sure that the special tool 0 496 438 (00 6 053) from the special tool kit 0 496 430 (00 6 050) rests correctly on the hood lock support on the left.
- Make sure that the special tool 0 496 437 (00 6 052)
from the set of special tools 0 496 430 (00 6 050)
rests correctly on the spring bolt on the left.
- Make sure that the special tool 0 496 438 (00 6 053) from the special tool kit 0 496 430 (00 6 050) rests correctly on the hood lock support on the right.
- Make sure that the special tool 0 496 437 (00 6 052)
from the set of special tools 0 496 430 (00 6 050)
rests correctly on the spring bolt on the right.
- If necessary, release the nuts (1) and position the engine bridge (2).
- Attach the hook (1) in the mounting bracket on the cylinder head.
- Lay out all special tools and standard tools.
Number Description 1 Standard torque wrench 2 Extension 11 9 150 3 External Torx socket E14 - Assemble all special tools and standard tools as shown.
- Release the screw (1) of the left engine mount from the bottom.
- Release the screw (1) of the right engine mount from the top with a standard tool.
- Lift the engine by 10 mm by turning the spindle 2 361 506 (00 6 103)
