Removing steering column shroud upper section

Preliminary work

Refer to ADJUSTING THE STEERING COLUMN POSITION .

NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The rubber plugs are reusable. Process to reuse the rubber plugs: remove the steering column shroud lower section and remove the rubber plugs.

Twist the steering wheel until the rubber plugs (1) in the steering column shroud becomes visible.
Press in the rubber plugs (1) using a T15 Torx screwdriver towards the inside into the steering column shroud.
With the Torx screwdriver, T15 (1) lever the lug inward (2) in arrow direction and simultaneously push off the steering column shroud upper section (3) upwards in arrow direction.

Unclip the upper section of the steering column shroud (1) from the guide (2) and remove upwards.
