Remove expansion tanks for the charge air coolers

Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER PANEL OF THE MASTER DME CONTROL UNIT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE ACOUSTIC COVER .

Only flexible hose pipes may be disconnected.

- Disconnect the coolant line (2) with clamping pliers (1).
- Rotate the sealing cap (1) of the expansion tank for the charge air cooler counterclockwise and open.
- Loosen screw (2).
- Suction the coolant using a standard syringe or a suitable tool.
- Rotate sealing cap (1) of the expansion tank for the charge air cooler clockwise and close it.
- Prepare a standard waterproof rubber mat (1).

- Position the rubber mat (2) between expansion tank (1) and the cylinder head cover.
- Ensure that the rubber mat (2) covers the areas between expansion tank (1) and the cylinder head cover in the area of injector shafts (3).
- Disengage retaining spring (1) upwards out of the connecting branch (2) of the coolant line with a screwdriver.
- Press in the locking mechanism (3) and detach the coolant lines (4).
- Do not use clamping pliers to disconnect plastic tubes (4).
- Catch and dispose of escaping coolant.
- Remove the expansion tank for the charge air coolers.
