Adjusting Hood

Preliminary work 

Follow-up work 

• Remove protective cap (1).
• Loosen nuts (2) and (3) until the hood can be pushed.
• Slide the hood in longitudinal direction and to the side until the hood has the specified gap dimension.

Check 

• Check gap dimensions.

  » Gap dimensions do not correspond to the specifications.

  Measure

  • Adjusting hood.
  NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
• Install the nuts (2) and (3) and tighten.

  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS 

  Hood to the hinge
  Nut M8	Tightening torque	19 Nm

• Install the protective cap (1).

Adjusting engine compartment lid catch 

• Adjust striker (1) by turning nut (2).

Check 

• Check gap dimensions between the hood and the headlights.

Check gap dimensions between the hood and the front ornamental grill.

Result 

» Gap dimensions do not correspond to the specifications.

Measure

• Adjust hood latch.

Adjust stop pads 

• Screw in stop pads (1) fully until the pin (2) can be pulled out.

  Pull the pin (2) out approx. 5 mm.

• Slowly close the hood.
• Pin (2) will be pressed into stop pad (1) while doing so.
• Raise the hood.
• Unscrew stop pad (1) so far until setting plug (1) is flush with the upper edge of pin (2).
