Removing and installing/replacing air spring, left or right (X6 M)
Before performing any work on the air supply system, pipes and air springs, it is mandatory to vent the air spring system!
If this order is ignored, there is an injury hazard!
Risk of damage!
Extreme cleanliness must be ensured at the connection area of the pipes during disassembly and installation. Even the smallest of dirt particles can cause leakage in the air spring system.
In a warranty case, you must always provide a fault memory printout with the defective part even if no entry is stored in the fault memory!
Preliminary work needed:
- Deactivate and vent the AIR SPRING SYSTEM .NOTE: Repeating the air spring venting routine may be necessary.
- Remove the REAR WHEEL .
Attention!
No tools may be used to disassemble the lower section (1) of the air spring.
Bend the lower section (1) of the air spring forward/sideways by hand.
Press the air spring (1) upwards and twist it by 30° (A) in counterclockwise direction.
Attention!
Do not kink, twist or crush the pipe!
