Changing oil in rear axle final drive (Dynamic Performance Control) and disposing of used oil (X6 M)

NOTE: The rear axle final drive has three oil chambers. The outer chambers (1, 3) contain the oil "SAF carbon mod", but with different filling capacities. The middle chamber (2) contains the "SAF XO Burmah Castrol" oil (refer to OPERATING FLUIDS ). The oils will mix if the rear axle final drive is subject to a change in position in excess of 45°.

WARNING: Risk of burning if exhaust system is touched!
DANGER OF POISONINGif oil is ingested/absorbed through the skin!
DANGER OF INJURYif oil comes into contact with eyes and skin!

NOTE: Only change oil when rear axle final drive is at normal operating temperature.
After an oil change, execute the "QMVH transmission oil change" service function (oil wear value reset).

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of escaping rear axle final drive oils.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations

Do following only F85, F86:

If necessary loosen screws (1) and nuts (2).

Tightening torque 33 11 9AZ .

Remove air guide (3).

Place oil collecting apparatus underneath.

Open oil drain plugs (1).

Drain and dispose of rear axle final drive oils.

Installation note:

Replace oil drain plugs (1).

Tightening torque 33 11 4AZ .

Attention!

Do not fill transmission with transmission oil up to lower edge of filler hole!

Transmission oil level is lower than lower edge of filler hole!

The following capacities must be stringently observed! Failure to comply with this requirement will result in damage to the rear axle differential!

Capacity, center (2) SAF XO BURMAH CASTROL .	Liters	0.95±0.02
Capacity, left (1) SAF CARBON MOD .	Liters	0.54±0.02
Capacity, right (1) SAF CARBON MOD .	Liters	0.58±0.02

Loosen oil filler plugs (1) and fill "SAF CARBON MOD ".

Loosen oil filler plug (2) and top up "SAF XO BURMAH CASTROL ".

Installation note:

Replace oil filler plugs (1, 2).

Tightening torque 33 11 4AZ .
