51 13 307 Removing and installing/replacing left or right roof rails (version with panorama glass roof)

Special tools required:

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Head airbag must be released from one clamp in each case in order to access the front and center bolting points.

To detach the clamps, use special tool 72 0 020 .

Push the left and right tabs together and pull clamp out.

Comply with NOTES on handling airbag systems.

Release clamp (1).

Press head airbag slightly to the side and release nut (2).

Tightening torque 51 13 4AZ .

Installation note:

Sequence of screw connections: Center-rear-front .

Release clamp (1).

Press head airbag slightly to the side and release nut (2).

Tightening torque 51 13 4AZ .

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Lever out protective cap (2) and release the nut beneath it.

Tightening torque 51 13 4AZ .

Installation note:

Sequence of screw connections: Center-rear-front .

Remove roof railing (1) in direction of arrow.

Installation note:

The roof rails may only be inserted in the roof channel with light uniform pressure (do not use impact on the roof rails).
