On-board computer button
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2017 BMW X3, 2016 BMW X3, 2015 BMW X3, 2014 BMW X3, and 2013 BMW X3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The on-board computer button is electrically connected to the steering column switch cluster (SZL). The signal is forwarded on the FlexRay to the central gateway module (ZGM). The instrument panel receives the signal on the PT CAN from the central gateway module.
NOTE:
As of F15, the steering column switch cluster is connected via LIN bus to the Body Domain Controller (BDC). The steering column switch cluster is then no longer a control unit.
