Contact-free tailgate opening: Notes

Contact-free tailgate opening is a further tailgate operating element for the customer.

It is operated by moving a foot towards the bumper and then back again. Two sensors detect this movement in contact-free manner via a capacitive measurement.

NOTE: Introduced from 07/13 across all series: If the vehicle is equipped with non-contact tailgate opening, non-contact tailgate closing is also possible.
If non-contact closing of the tailgate is possible, an additional acoustic sensor is installed on the tailgate,

The contact-free tailgate opening function has a forced connection to the SA322 Comfort Access  .

The non-contact tailgate closing function has a forced connection to the SA322 Comfort Access and to the SA316 automatic operation of tailgate  .
