Junction box electronics (JBE for F0x, F1x) or rear electronic module (REM for F3x)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2017 BMW X3, 2016 BMW X3, 2015 BMW X3, 2014 BMW X3, and 2013 BMW X3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The tailgate central locking system is activated directly via a power output stage in these control units. The JBE or the REM unlocks or locks the vehicle. The relays for unlocking and locking are located on the power distribution box. The junction box electronics (JBE) are plugged into the front power distribution box.

The local interconnect network bus from the evaluation electronics is routed through the junction box electronics (JBE). In the case of the front electronic module (FEM) the LIN bus is directly connected.

For contact-free tailgate opening, the rear lid lock is supplied with current. The status of the central locking system does not change.
