61 12... Replacing positive battery cable (from battery to luggage compartment cable connector) from 2014

IMPORTANT: Do not under any circumstances pull or lever safety battery terminal off by force.

Necessary preliminary work:

DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY LEAD

Removal:

Disconnect the connector (1).

Open the cover (2) and slacken the nut underneath.

Open the cover (3) and release the nut underneath.

Using a suitable tool, expand the locking bracket (1) at lower end and unclip.

Raise the power distribution box (2) slightly and remove safety battery terminal (3).

Release the cover (1) from the cable shoe fixture on the latch mechanisms and remove.

Undo the nut (1) and remove the positive battery cable (2).

Installation:

Join positive battery cable (2) and tighten with the nut (1).

Tightening torque 61 12 4AZ .

Installation note:

Risk of short circuits!

Make sure positive battery cable (2) is correctly fitted in the cable shoe fixture.

Installation note:

The retaining lugs on the lid (1) must not be missing or damaged.

Join cover (1) to the cable shoe fixture.

Installation note:

Ensure the cover (1) is correctly fitted.

Raise the power distribution box (2) slightly and join safety battery terminal (3).

Push the power distribution box (2) downwards on the locking brackets (1) and engage.

Tighten the nut under the cover (3) and close it (3).

Tightening torque 61 12 1AZ .

Tighten the nut under the cover (2) and close it (2).

Tightening torque 61 12 3AZ .

Connect the connector (1).
