11 14 110 Removing and installing, sealing/replacing timing case cover at rear (N47 D20 O1)

Special tools required: 

IMPORTANT: Engines with surface sealant:
Application time of sealing bead max. 12 minutes.

Necessary preliminary work: 

Release screws (1).

Loosen gear case cover with a screwdriver (1) in direction of arrow.

Loosen gear case cover with a screwdriver (1) in direction of arrow.

Remove gear case cover.

Remove gasket remnants from crankcase and gear case cover with special tool 11 4 470 .

Apply sealing bead (1) at marked points.

Installation note: 

Application time of sealing bead (1) max. 12 minutes.

Position sealing bead (1) at marked point (see arrow) on outside on gear case cover.

Thickness of SEALING BEAD : 1.5 to 2.0 mm.

Insert bolts (1).

Secure special tool 00 9 120 with bolts (1).

Tightening torque: 11 14 2AZ .

REPLACE RADIAL SHAFT SEAL AT FRONT .

ASSEMBLE ENGINE .

Procedure for replacing gear case cover. 

Release screws (1).

Release bolt holding high pressure pump.

Remove gasket remnants from the crankcase with special tool 11 4 470 .

Apply sealing bead (1) at marked points.

Installation note: 

Application time of sealing bead (1) max. 12 minutes.

Position sealing bead (1) at marked point (see arrow) on inside on gear case cover.

Thickness of SEALING BEAD : 1.5 to 2.0 mm. 

Preassemble special tool 11 8 815 on crankshaft.

Install accelerator pedal module ring (1) with gear case cover dry and without lubricant.

Insert bolts (1).

Secure special tool 00 9 120 with bolts (1).

Tightening torque: 11 14 2AZ .

Assemble engine.
