Removing the right charge air duct between the exhaust turbocharger and the charge air cooler
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING FRONT RIGHT WHEEL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL ARCH COVER .
- Refer to PARTIALLY REMOVING THE FRONT WHEEL ARCH COVER .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR FROM THE MOUNT .

- Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.
- Release the screws (2) at the front left.
- Drill out the blind rivet (1) in the front left.
- Release the screws (2) at the front right.
- Drill out the blind rivet (1) at the front right.
- Unlock the locking pins (1).
- Guide out and remove the locking mechanisms (2).
- Guide out and remove the cross connection (3).
- Release the screws (1) on the front subframe on the right.
- If installed:
- Unlock and release the plug connection (1).
- Loosen screws (2).
- Guide out and remove the ride height sensor (3).
- If installed:
- Release clamp (1) from the right charge air line.
- Loosen screws (1) of the charge air duct on the oil pan.
- Unlock lock (1).
The locking mechanism (1) must engage in the holder (arrow) during unlocking.
- Unlock the charge air duct (1) at the charge air cooler and release.
- Pull the adapter of the front subframe (1) downwards to the front right.
- Feed out the charge air duct (2) downwards in the marked
area and place to one side.
- Unlock and disengage lock mechanisms (1) on both sides.
- Guide out the charge air duct (2) at the exhaust turbocharger in the arrow direction and place to one side.
- Pull the adapter of the front subframe (1) downwards to the front right.
- Feed out the charge air duct (1) in arrow direction between the side member and deformation element and remove.
